Why You Should Sell Your House In The Summer

Timing is everything. So, it's important to make sure you handle life's biggest tasks when everything is aligned just right. When it comes to putting your house on the market and moving on to a new home, Summer has a lot of things to consider. Here are just five reasons you should consider putting your home up on the market.

  • Aesthetics: So much of real estate hinges on the appearance of your home, and summertime makes for a perfect framing opportunity. Winter can make houses look dreary and submerged by snow. Spring is full of constant rain and mud. Built up Autumn leaves can give an appearance of neglect. Summer gives you the best foot forward for showing off all of your fantastic yard work, gardening, decks, or porches.
  • Availability: If your yard work, gardening, decks, or porches aren't quite up to what you'd like them to be, summer is a great time to get to those DIY improvements you've been holding off on. Summer months have more (and less stressful) holiday days. Plus, many businesses tend to slow in these months as their customers and staff go on vacation. This can allow you to put aside some time of your own to focus on renovation projects, which can lead to more showings.
  • Demand: Many families tend to look for homes in the summer while their children are on summer vacation. At the same time, they're also looking to get a quick turnaround time before school picks up again, giving you a great three-month window to strike while the iron is hot.
  • Visibility: You can't underestimate the value of the people walking or driving through your neighborhood. Summer is a time for people to get out and about. Don't miss street traffic opportunity during the months when people love being outside.
  • Avoid the Holiday Crunch: Let's face it: as much as the Winter Holidays are a celebration, they're also a lot of work, and that's before considering to put your house on the market between the months of November and January. Get everything sewn up before the Holiday rush.

Regardless of when you decide to sell your home, Matt Albright, is your leading RE/MAX real estate agent. Contact him to help you get your house on the market and find homes for sale in Bucks and Montgomery County!!
